Swimming Pool Manager/Operator

A person in this position has responsibilities that include, ensuring the entire facility is operated in a safe, clean and efficient manner. Duties include supervision of staff, staff scheduling, chemical maintenance, record keeping, making sure the swimming pool and surrounding areas are safe and clean and all pool rules and regulations are follows. These individuals are also responsible for the safety and protection of each patron at the swimming facility. Experience is lifeguarding and/or pool management a plus, but not necessary. We offer all required classes which include Basic Lifeguard Training, CPR, First Aid and Pool Operators (where applicable).

To become a pool operator, you must:

  • Verify with each particular county as to their requirements pertaining to age and experience for eligibility to take the pool operator course.
  • Complete a swimming pool operators course offered through American Pool Enterprises, Inc. or a local community college.

The length of the course is 16 hours and a comprehensive exam must be passed with a minimum score of 75 percent. To obtain the actual license you must meet the county requirements. Most counties issue the license for an additional fee.

Swimming Instructor

Individual to instruct water adjustment classes to infants ages six to 24 months. Parent of infant will participate in their child’s class. Swimming lesson classes for children three to 12 years of age defined as beginners, intermediates, or advanced swimmers. Instructor candidate should have previous swimming instructor experience. Current CPR for the professional rescuer or equivalent certification is required.

Lifeguard Auditor

This candidate must be a SAFETY FOCUSED person, as he or she will be responsible for maintaining the high performance of our lifeguards. The Lifeguard Safety Auditor makes unannounced site visits to evaluate the lifeguard’s skills and perform safety checks of the facility. The lifeguards will be monitored and tested on injury prevention skills, patron surveillance skills, rescue skills, respiratory and cardiac emergency skills, and first aid skill. These evaluations ensure that each guard has proper certifications with them at the facility and that each guard is properly trained and can react calmly and confidently in an emergency situation.

Qualifications include being a certified lifeguard and/or being certified in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Lifeguard, emergency care, or an equivalent industry for at approximately 3 years. Mature and reliable. Deliver information in a clear and precise manner and manage time effectively. Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation throughout employment.

Field Supervisor

This position is responsible for overseeing the operations and personnel of approximately 10-12 swimming pool facilities within a specific geographic area. Duties include maintaining quality relationships with the resident manager or property manager of each facility, scheduling and training of swimming pool staff, and weekly inspection of each facility. The Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of each pool including passing Health Inspections, ensuring the sure of safe lifeguarding skills and equipment, maintaining all County requirements and monitoring proper chemical levels. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment. Candidate must be a team player and candidate must have reliable transportation to be eligible for the position.

Recruiter

The position will be responsible for hiring lifeguards and coordinating their placement at various swimming facilities. This is a great entry level position in the area of Human Resources. The preferred applicant enjoys working with young people. This position requires someone who is open to change, enjoys a fast-paced environment and has a talent at putting together the “piece of a puzzle” when coordinating schedules and staff. Both year-round and seasonal positions are available.

Pool Service Technicians

This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair and service of residential and/or commercial swimming pools. No experience is necessary. Training will be provided for the right applicant. This position requires a clean driving record and the ability to lift 50 pounds. Some locations will require applicant to be 21 years old and willing to obtain a Commercial Drivers License.

Lifeguard Instructor

American Pool Enterprises, Inc. is looking for full and part-time American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructors. Applicants must have a current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Instructor certification. We will train the right person if necessary.

Receptionist

This position can be solely part-time or Full-time/Part-time. The candidate must possess a pleasant phone manner and enjoy a fast-paced environment. Light typing and filing is also required.
